Course Overview

This course provides students with foundational knowledge and skills in technology. This understanding emphasizes using and understanding computer hardware, digital tools, and productivity software. This helps parents or guardians choose technology for their homeschool.

Students will explore various technology applications in academic and real-world settings, learn about computer hardware and software basics, and gain an understanding of productivity software and how to make good printer selections.

By the end of the course, students will be equipped with essential digital skills and a deeper understanding of how technology impacts daily life.

You Will Be Able to:

Understand and Apply Polynomial Functions:

    • Identify, analyze, and graph polynomial functions and their properties.
    • Perform operations on polynomials, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Solve and Simplify Rational Expressions and Equations:

    • Simplify complex rational expressions.
    • Solve equations involving rational expressions and apply them to real-world problems.

Explore Exponential and Logarithmic Functions:

    • Define and work with exponential and logarithmic functions.
    • Solve equations involving exponential and logarithmic expressions and understand their applications.

Analyze and Solve Systems of Equations and Inequalities:

    • Solve systems of linear and nonlinear equations using multiple methods (graphing, substitution, elimination).
    • Apply systems of equations to solve real-world problems.

Understand and Use Matrices in Problem Solving:

    • Perform matrix operations and understand matrix properties.
    • Use matrices to represent and solve systems of linear equations.

Work with Complex Numbers:

    • Understand the concept of imaginary numbers and complex numbers.
    • Perform operations with complex numbers and solve equations that involve them.

Study Sequences and Series:

    • Define arithmetic and geometric sequences and series.
    • Apply formulas to find specific terms and sums of sequences.

Analyze Conic Sections:

    • Identify and analyze the graphs and equations of parabolas, ellipses, circles, and hyperbolas.
    • Solve problems involving conic sections in practical contexts.

Develop Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Use algebraic methods to interpret and solve real-life problems.
