Course Overview

This course provides an in-depth exploration of adaptive technology tools designed to support individuals with learning disabilities and disorders, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD.

Students will learn about various types of assistive technology, including software, apps, and devices that facilitate reading, writing, organization, and math skills. The course will also cover strategies for implementing these technologies in educational and home settings, best practices for integrating them into learning environments, and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of adaptive technology tools for diverse learning needs.

By the end of the course, students will be equipped with practical knowledge and skills to support individuals with learning disabilities through technology.

You Will Be Able to:

Identify Assistive Technology Tools
Understand and identify various adaptive technology tools that support individuals with specific learning disabilities, such as text-to-speech software, speech-to-text apps, digital graphic organizers, and math support tools.

Assess Learning Needs and Match with Technology
Evaluate the specific needs of individuals with learning disabilities and select appropriate technology tools that align with these needs to support academic performance and daily life skills.

Implement Technology in Various Settings
